Coming off a tough loss on Sunday, the Orioles' pen spoiled another strong start, in a loss to the Jays. Erik Bedard threw seven innings, allowing three runs. Nick Markakis and Jay Gibbons both homered for the Orioles. Jay Payton and Melvin Mora had to be separated after the game ended.
After being held in check through seven innings, the Blue Jays bats came alive in the eighth, as Troy Glaus hit his seventh home run of the season to break a 3-3 tie. Tomo Ohka was solid on the bump, allowing three runs and five hits in five innings.
