Wang clutch in nightcap
Chien-Ming Wang recorded his second win and helped the Yankees pick up a split of a day-night doubleheader in Chicago. Wang scattered six hits over seven innings. Hideki Matsui had two hits and two RBIs and Jorge Posada and Melky Cabrera homered.

Two unearned runs in the third inning forced Jose Conteras and the White Sox to battle from behind most of the night. Contreras worked into the seventh, striking out six, but continued his trend of alternating losses and wins. Rob Mackowiak drove in the lone run with a sixth-inning single.
