Shields' gem wasted By Bill Chastain / MLB.com
James Shields, backed by Carlos Pena's early two-run homer, struck out eight while allowing one run over seven innings, but his good work was erased in the eighth when Rays relievers allowed three runs. Carlos Pena hit a two-run homer in the first inning.
