Hong-Chih Kuo looked to be in line for his first win of the season, as Rafael Furcal's three RBIs and a solo shot by Luis Gonzalez provided a four-run lead in the ninth inning. Jonathan Broxton struggled mightily, however, with a game-ending bases-loaded walk finishing off a five-run Padres rally.

Adrian Gonzalez had two RBIs and scored the game-winning run on a bases-loaded walk as the Padres used a five-run ninth to complete a sweep of the Dodgers. Paul McAnulty and Mike Cameron added RBI singles in the final frame, and Russell Branyan drew the walk-off walk.
