Tigers starter Justin Verlander limited the Braves to one run, while fanning 11 in seven innings, to notch his fourth consecutive win in the month of June. Shortstop Carlos Guillen provided most of the offensive punch for the Tigers, scoring both Detroit runs and going deep in the fourth inning for his 12th home run of the season.

Chipper Jones snapped Atlanta's 31-inning scoreless drought with a homer in the fourth, but the Braves couldn't get much else going offensively against Justin Verlander.
