Brewers fall apart in ninth

The Brewers scored five runs in the first inning, including a three-run shot by Kevin Mench, but closer Francisco Cordero wasn't able to hold the lead, allowing three runs. Starter Yovani Gallardo limited the Cubs to two runs on five hits in six strong innings.

Aramis Ramirez came through with a two-run shot in the ninth inning, powering the Cubs to pull within 6 1/2 games of the Brewers in the Central Division in front of 41,909, the largest crowd at Wrigley Field this season.
