Cards rally vs. rookie relievers
Tenacity pays off
Juan Encarnacion's RBI double in the second got the Cards on the board. It was a pitchers' duel after that, until Chris Duncan's RBI single tied it in the eighth and Encarnacion came up with another big hit, the go-ahead RBI single, to complete the comeback.

Series at a glance:
Arroyo's gem spoiled
Josh Hamilton hit a two-run home run in the sixth to give the Reds a slim one-run advantage and it looked like Bronson Arroyo would finally notch another victory, but the Reds sent three rookies to the mound in the eighth, allowing three runs in the frame.
