Yanks put a dent in Silva
Twins blanked in New York

Carlos Silva gave up six earned runs in 5 1/3 innings, and Juan Rincon allowed two runs in two-thirds of an inning as the Twins dropped their second straight game in New York. Minnesota hitters were held to just four hits in seven frames by Chien-Ming Wang.

The Yankees strung together a five-run sixth inning and starter Chien-Ming Wang threw seven shutout innings to win their second straight game over the Twins. Robinson Cano hit a two-run shot in the fourth, Derek Jeter went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and Melky Cabrera drove in two.
