Double trouble for Sox
Royals pound Wakefield
On the strength of five doubles and four-plus innings from first-time starter Leo Nunez, who allowed just one run on six hits, the Royals ran away with a win at Fenway Park. Alex Gordon went 3-for-4 with a double and three runs scored and John Buck drove in two with a double in the seventh. Billy Butler also had a two-run double in the fourth.

Series at a glance:
Runs scarce for Sox
As impressive as the Sox were on Monday, they were equally as unimpressive on Tuesday. Tim Wakefield struggled in the Royals' five-run seventh inning, and the offense that showed signs of breaking out just one night earlier fell mostly silent against KC on Tuesday.
