McGowan solid in win

The Blue Jays received a strong start from Dustin McGowan and were able to come through with runners on base to salvage the series finale against the Yankees. Gregg Zaun delivered the decisive blow, an RBI single to cap a three-run seventh. McGowan went seven innings to move to 6-5.

The Yanks had no late-inning magic in their arsenal on Thursday, and Chien-Ming Wang ran into trouble after a strong beginning as New York's five-game winning streak was snapped. Wang cruised through the first six innings before giving up three runs in the decisive seventh.
