The Rays clicked on all cylinders in Friday's opener, getting two homers from B.J. Upton, a Dioner Navarro grand slam and a strong outing from Edwin Jackson. Navarro had the mightiest blast, a grand slam to break it open. Jackson tossed six scoreless frames for his second win.

Mussina rocked in opener By Bryan Hoch / MLB.com
The Yankees had a night to forget on Friday, dropping their second straight game in a blowout loss to the last-place Rays. Mike Mussina was hit hard, lasting just 4 2/3 innings. The Bombers bats were silenced by Edwin Jackson, who entered the game at 1-9.
