The Rays' series against the Yankees unraveled very quickly this weekend in the Bronx, culminating in the second straight double-digit drubbing. Right-hander James Shields struggled in the start, allowing 10 runs on 10 hits over 3 1/3 innings. Carlos Pena belted his team-best 23rd homer.
The Yankees continued to steamroll over Rays pitching, using a 10-run fourth to cruise to their third straight win. The Bombers cracked six homers, including Alex Rodriguez's 498th career blast and two from Shelley Duncan.
