Jeremy Bonderman cruised after another shaky first inning, allowing only two hits and no runs in his last six innings. But the Tigers couldn't wrap it up until the 10th when Gary Sheffield hit an RBI single and Magglio Ordonez followed him with a three-run homer. The win puts the Tigers in sole possession of first place in the AL Central.
After Grady Sizemore hit a two-run homer in the first inning, Cleveland couldn't do much against Jeremy Bonderman. Curtis Granderson robbed Travis Hafner's bid for the go-ahead RBI in the eighth, and the Indians stranded runners in the ninth and 10th as they fell to the Tigers in extra innings, dropping the Tribe to second place.
