Chris Young started off the scoring for the D-backs right away with a leadoff homer in the first. The D-backs scored four more runs and held off a late Marlins rally to win the game. Livan Hernandez went seven innnings to get the win.

Hanley Ramirez did everything he could, scoring two runs, including a solo homer, but the Marlins could not overcome an early deficit. Catcher Miguel Olivo left the game in the second inning with a left groin strain and is day-to-day.
