Big Ben clocks in for big win
Skid ends at five games
Making his first start since July 14 due to a finger injury and subsequent blisters, Ben Sheets tossed six innings of one-run ball to lead the Brewers back into second and 1 1/2 games behind the first-place Cubs. Gabe Gross hit a go-ahead RBI double in the fifth, and Milwaukee piled on late.

Series at a glance:
Cubs take a step back
Carlos Zambrano turned in a winless August after being charged with five earned runs in 6 1/3 innings in a loss to the Brewers. Zambrano did score the Cubs' lone run on Aramis Ramirez's sac fly after hitting an infield single, but the rest of the bats were turned away as Milwaukee crept back into second and 1 1/2 games back.
