Maine, Mets turn 'er around
Delgado, Reyes go deep
The Mets needed a big win, and John Maine stepped up in a big way. The only run off Maine in seven excellent innings at Turner Field came on a wild pitch, and homers by Carlos Delgado and Jose Reyes helped the first-place Mets snap a five-game slide.

Series at a glance:
Hudson outdueled at home
The Braves had a real chance to put a serious dagger in the reeling Mets at Turner Field, but Tim Hudson gave up two rare homers and the offense never quite got going against John Maine. Atlanta loaded the bases with nobody out in the sixth, but scored just one run in the inning. The Braves fell 5 1/2 games behind the Mets in the NL East.
