Kyle Lohse bent but didn't break against the Mets, allowing 11 baserunners in five innings, but just three runs, and a two-run deficit was hardly going to faze the Phillies. Aaron Rowand homered in the eighth to tie it, and Jimmy Rollins' two-run triple was the game-winner.
Pedro Martinez was simply outstanding on Saturday, fanning nine batters in six one-run innings. But again, the Mets' bullpen was unable to hold off the Phillies, surrendering the lead in the eighth inning for their seventh straight loss to their rivals. The Mets' NL East lead is down to 4 1/2 games.
