Tim Wakefield couldn't snap out of his slump on Monday, and Frank Thomas stole the show in the opener vs. the Blue Jays. Wakefield gave up two of Thomas' three homers on the night, and the Boston bats were stifled by Dustin McGowan. Mike Lowell's RBI double scored the Sox's only run.
Frank Thomas showed he still has a lot of pop in his bat on Monday, cranking three homers to lead the Jays past the Red Sox. The Big Hurt's showcase was in support of Dustin McGowan, who tossed a complete game. The righty allowed one run on five hits, striking out nine.
