Homer extends Jays' streak

Although the Blue Jays allowed five hits and made an error in the Yankees' four-run ninth inning to nullify Roy Halladay's masterpiece, Gregg Zaun made up for the drama with a solo home run, his 10th, in the top of the 14th inning to send Toronto to its fourth consecutive victory. Five Blue Jays relievers combined to toss five shutout innings after the ninth.

The Yankees waited until a four-run ninth inning to get to Roy Halladay, forcing extra innings with Jason Giambi's RBI single off Scott Downs, but Brian Bruney gave the Jays a lead they would keep with Gregg Zaun's homer in the 14th inning. The loss dropped the Yankees to 2 1/2 games behind the Red Sox in the AL East.
