Rox roll continues in NLCS
Francis fabulous in Game 1
Jeff Francis was on the losing end of his last encounter with D-backs ace Brandon Webb, but he more than made up for it with a gem to open the NLCS. The Rockies gave him all the offense he needed in the third, when Willy Taveras singled and scored on Kazuo Matsui's bloop hit before Brad Hawpe capped the rally with a two-run single.

Webb outdueled in desert
Diamondbacks ace Brandon Webb is the only pitcher to get the best of the Rockies over their last 19 games, although he could not conjure up a repeat performance in Game 1 of the NLCS. Arizona went ahead in the first inning on Eric Byrnes' one-out double, but never recovered after Colorado took the lead with a three-run third inning.
