The Rockies will head to Colorado with a 2-0 series lead after Willy Taveras' bases-loaded walk in the 11th inning finished off the D-backs in Game 2. The center fielder continued to make his presence known after missing the NLDS with a calf injury, also making a sprawling catch in the seventh inning to foil a potential Diamondbacks rally.

Rally in ninth not enough

The Diamondbacks did not go quietly in Game 2 of the NLCS, but they are down 0-2 in the series nonetheless. Eric Byrnes' RBI grounder in the bottom of the ninth inning tied the game after a night of missed chances for Arizona. Colorado finally prevailed in the 11th by taking advantage of control problems by All-Star closer Jose Valverde.
