For 7 2/3 innings, the Rays had no solution for Clay Buchholz, with B.J. Upton's double in the fourth representing Tampa Bay's only hit. But in the eighth, after pinch-hitter Dioner Navarro singled, Akinori Iwamura skied a two-run homer to extend the Rays' winning streak to five.
