Sun aids Athletics
Photos
Athletics 3, Rangers 1
Greg Smith and the A's wear uniforms from the '68 season. (Ben Margot/AP)
Frank Thomas led off the seventh with a sun-aided double, and Jack Cust followed with a two-run homer to give the A's the lead for good. Greg Smith allowed just one run on three hits in six innings, but the runs came too late to give him the win. Santiago Casilla earned the victory.
