After Troy Percival allowed the Yankees to tie the game in the ninth, Gabe Gross hit a walk-off single in the 11th to plate pinch-runner Jonny Gomes. The victory, coupled with the Red Sox's loss, moved the Rays into first place this late in the season for the first time in team history.
