Making his first start in more than two weeks, Steve Trachsel faced 14 hitters in just 1 2/3 innings, allowing nine runs, including two homers by Evan Longoria. Luke Scott went deep and Guillermo Quiroz had a pair of hits, but Trachsel's poor start was too much to overcome.
