Jose Guillen put the Royals initially ahead in the third with a two-run shot, and three circus catches by Joey Gathright kept the game close. Zack Greinke was effective, but gave up two homers, including the go-ahead blast with no out in the sixth inning, for the loss. Alex Gordon scored on a passed ball in the second.
