Jeff Kent doubled in a run in the first and Matt Kemp did the same in the two-run fourth, but the Dodgers were never able to catch the Rockies, who got to Hiroki Kuroda early and didn't look back. With Arizona hanging on to defeat San Diego, Los Angeles dropped back to second in the National League West.
