The Dodgers appeared poised to trim the D-backs' lead to two games, but Jason Johnson gave up the winning homer in the 11th after Jonathan Broxton couldn't close it out in the ninth. The loss spoiled a strong six-inning effort from starter Hiroki Kuroda.
