Infielders Nomar Garciaparra and Mark Ellis left with calf injuries, and after a blister sidelined starter Brett Anderson in the sixth, the A's 'pen gave up a three-run inning to lose a two-run lead. After Ryan Sweeney's homer tied it, Jason Giambi's eighth-inning error led to the deciding run.
