Sweeney saves day
Photos
Athletics 4, Rangers 2
Ryan Sweeney (right) smiles after his game-changing grab Thursday. (Tony Gutierrez/AP)
Ryan Sweeney committed highway robbery on a long drive by Ian Kinsler in the eighth, taking away what would have been a go-ahead three-run homer and preserving Dallas Braden's stellar start to the afternoon. A pair of sac flies by Landon Powell and Kurt Suzuki, and a very patient Jack Cust, completed the victory.
