Looking to overcome Vicente Padilla's only slip in the seventh, Ian Kinsler drove a long shot into center field in the eighth that looked to be a go-ahead three-run homer. It was not to be, however, as Ryan Sweeney robbed him of the glory and the Rangers of a win despite two other homers from Texas' blast-happy offense.
