Alexei Ramirez gave the White Sox an early lead, but the offense otherwise struggled early on in the rainstorm. After a lengthy delay, however, A.J. Pierzynski's grand slam gave Chicago new life, but the eight-run deficit stemming from Jose Contreras' rough start was too steep.
