A six-run first inning, during which the Rays batted around but only had two hits, gave Jeff Niemann an early cushion, as the starter allowed four runs in eight innings. Jason Bartlett had three hits, including a triple, and five RBIs, and Akinori Iwamura was 2-for-4 with three RBIs.
