A.J. Burnett didn't need much support, but he got plenty. Mark Teixeira hit a two-run shot in the first, and Hideki Matsui smacked a pair of home runs. Burnett held the Rangers scoreless for six innings and won to pull the Yanks into a tie for first place in the AL East.
