The Rays started hot by scoring five runs in the first, but cooled down as the game wore on. Ben Zobrist and Evan Longoria paced the offense, as Zobrist reached base four times and Longoria became the first player in the Majors this year to reach 50 RBIs with an RBI single in the first.
