Nelson Cruz belted his 15th homer of the season to put the Rangers up in the third inning, but the lead was short-lived as the Yankees scored seven in the fourth. Vicente Padilla, making his first start back from the disabled list, gave up five of those runs, and Texas was unable to recover from his 3 2/3 innings of seven-run ball.
