Johan Santana didn't allow a hit until a one-out double in the fifth, but he gave up a run in the frame, as well as a homer in the seventh, and didn't return after a 73-minute rain delay in the eighth. Santana took the loss after the Mets finished with just four hits, including Omir Santos' RBI double.
