B.J. Upton delivered a bases-clearing double with two outs in the eighth inning to break a 3-3 tie, sending the Rays to their third consecutive win. Starter James Shields was in line for the win until he allowed a homer to Hanley Ramirez in the seventh. Carlos Pena and Evan Longoria each recorded RBI singles.
