Eugenio Velez hit a leadoff homer and fell a triple shy of the cycle and Pablo Sandoval and Aaron Rowand also went deep for the Giants, who cut their National League Wild Card deficit to 2 1/2 games. Velez drove in two and scored twice as the Giants amassed 15 hits.
