James Shields allowed five runs in seven innings and took the loss. Gabe Kapler kicked off a three-run third inning with a solo home run, his seventh of the season, and Evan Longoria and Ben Zobrist added RBI singles, but the Rays were unable to counter the Rangers' late runs as they swallowed the loss.
