Tigers 12, White Sox 5
Carlos Quentin catches a fly ball hit by Brandon Inge in the third. (Charles Rex Arbogast/AP)
By Jesse Temple / MLB.com
Freddy Garcia looked excellent early, holding the Tigers to one hit and facing the minimum over the first four innings. But he gave up a run in the fifth, two in the sixth and four in the seventh, enabling Detroit to take its first lead. Carlos Quentin hit a three-run homer and Alex Rios had a solo shot.
