Tigers 7, Twins 2
Joe Mauer returns to the dugout after scoring in the first inning. (Paul Sancya/AP)
By Kelly Thesier / MLB.com
A promising start that saw Jason Kubel and Delmon Young drive in runs in the first inning faded away when Carl Pavano was chased after 4 2/3 innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits. The Twins fell three games back of the division-leading Tigers with four games to play, including Thursday's series finale at Comerica Park.
