Testimonials

Dear Camp Staff:

I am now 24 hours removed from my first camp and I am already in withdraw. What a week! A total blast! My experience far exceeded by expectations! Your staff Julie, along with the Legends Field staff, were second to none. Please send my regards. Typical Yankee professionalism. I will proudly recommend to any possible camp candidates that the week at Yankee Fantasy Camp is a treasure that will last a lifetime! I made many new friends and will treasure the memories forever. The Legends were terrific! Very approachable and always made it a point that the campers having fun is - and will be - priority #1!!! If I can help you in any way to encourage future campers please do not hesitate at all. I believe I will have 3 friends signing up for next year and I've only been back for 24 hours!

Billy Joes once wrote a song in which the lyrics said, "Every year's a souvenir that slowly fades away…" I promise you mine won't!

Thank you again for an unforgettable experience. I hope to attend again.

Yours truly,

Donny Babich

Dear Camp Staff:

Thank you so much for a wonderful week. My husband Guy enjoyed himself. The first night he called home saying 'It's like Christmas down here!'. When I arrived on Thursday night, I did find him covered in ice packs, but feeling invincible nonetheless.

As stated by other campers, we had thought this was a once in a lifetime experience. Until we arrived home Sunday...by Sunday afternoon the brochure for next year's camp was on the fridge.

Thank you again for a top class week in Yankee heaven.

Best Regards,
Mrs. DiSalvo
Dear Camp Staff:

I would like to thank you for making my experience at the January '08 Yankees Fantasy Camp a success. The opportunity of meeting the up and coming talent in the Yankees organization as well as the hanging out with the Legends is something that will never get old. The friendships that I have formed with my fellow campers are truly a treasure. The games have almost become secondary to the rest of the week.

I again thank you.

Dear Camp Staff:

I'm a little late in getting this out to you…but just wanted to say "THANKS" for a fantastic week of Yankee Baseball a couple of weeks ago. You guys do an outstanding job of putting this program together and keeping it on track. As a 1st time camper, I wasn't sure what to expect - but can say I was not disappointed at all. My family and I had a great time and enjoyed every moment. Thanks for all the work you do in making the Camp such a special time. I look forward to returning again in the future.

Have a great day!

Dear Mr. Littlefield,

As I prepared for my first NY Yankees Fantasy Camp, I was a bit apprehensive. No, it wasn't concern regarding my eroding athletic skills, loss of 20-20 vision or a baseball glove that wasn't broken in. It was the fear that despite being in good physical condition for a 50 year old my body wouldn't allow me to play the outfield 2 games a day for an entire week. From May through October, I couldn't seem to avoid meeting former campers who had torn hamstrings, sprained ankles, or injured their shoulders, elbows or lumbar spine during their fantasy week.

My first glimmer of hope came when the camp sent me a set of training and stretching instructions designed by the trainers. I incorporated every exercise into my training regimen. I altered my run workouts to include some speed work. I began to perform shuttle runs and short sprints in my cleats. In essence, with the exception of running bases on a baseball diamond (By October, all our local fields are converted to football) and running in cleats the 2 weeks before the camp (weather/ground conditions), I did just about everything the training team suggested. My only real pre-camp faux pas was not getting hitting instruction/ doing enough bating cage work, which had immediate consequences.

The care provide by these gentlemen was exceptional. Despite the daunting task of caring for over 100 campers and legends (many of us on a daily basis), they never made us feel rushed or trivialized our problems. Their on-field activity was similarly impressive; among other things I witnessed Jeff's management of an acute left shoulder dislocation. As someone who has been involved in health care for the past 30 years, I can unequivocally state that these were among he finest professionals I have encountered. As a camper, they were an integral part of my wonderful week. Thank you for assembly of this team and allowing them to be with us.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey L. Young MD, MA
