Statement of MLBPA Executive Director Michael Weiner on the passing of Jerry Clothier

IRVING, Texas -- Major League Baseball Players Association Executive Director Michael Weiner today issued the following statement upon learning of the passing of Jerry Clothier, the Philadelphia Phillies executive and longtime member of the Pension Committee of the Major League Baseball Players Benefit Plan.

"Jerry Clothier served as a trustee for the MLB Players Benefit Plan with insight, diligence and integrity. All members of the plan -- current players, former players, and their families -- are indebted to him for that service. Jerry will be missed by all who had the privilege to have known him. He was a wonderful man."
