The championship game will be played at Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday, April 22 at 3:30 p.m. Gates open at 2:30 p.m. Parking is in Lot P off of Darien Street and tickets are $5 to enter and can be purchased at the First Base Ticket windows.
For the third time in tournament history the Philadelphia University Rams were crowned the Bill Giles Invitational champions. They defeated the Wilmington University Wildcats 11-6. Shane Yoshiyama helped the Rams to an early 3-0 lead with a two-run single in the bottom of the second. They relinquished the lead in the top of the sixth when the Wildcats Brandon Payne hit a two-run homer but recovered in the bottom of the eighth when their offensive exploded to put seven runs on the board.
Philadelphia University reached the title game after defeating the University of Sciences Devils 4-1 and Wilmington University defeated West Chester University 16-5 to earn their berth.
The Bill Giles Invitational was introduced in 2001 and is a college Division II baseball tournament. Taking part in the tournament are West Chester University, University of the Sciences, Philadelphia University and Wilmington College.
