Red, White & Brew took place on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. inside the Rivertowne Brewing Hall of Fame Club at PNC Park.
Attendees had the opportunity to mingle with Pirates players and coaches while enjoying a variety of food stations paired perfectly with local brewery craft beers and fine wines while raising money for two great causes: LiveLikeLou.org and Pirates Charities.
LiveLikeLou.org works to raise awareness of ALS, provide care and comfort to ALS families in Western Pennsylvania, and support scientific research targeted at finding a cure. The fund was named for baseball great Lou Gehrig to honor the example he set for all people living with ALS.
Pirates Charities is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The official registration and financial information may be obtained from the Pennsylvania Department of State by calling, toll free, within Pennsylvania, 1(800) 732-0999. Registration does not imply endorsement.
Neil and Suzanne Alexander established LiveLikeLou.org in 2011 when Neil was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), the devastating condition known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Through this fund they hope to honor the example Lou Gehrig set for all people living with ALS - determination, hard work and grace in the face of adversity. Their goal, along with the shared vision of friends, family and the LiveLikeLou.org Advisory Committee, is to have a meaningful impact on the disease locally and nationally for years to come.
