On Dec. 12, 2013, Derek Jeter helped 250 children from West Michigan celebrate the holidays when he paid them a surprise visit at his Turn 2 Foundation's Annual Holiday Express, hosted by high school students from the Kalamazoo Jeter's Leaders program.
The event is intended to reward young people in the Turn 2 Foundation's signature programs who are demonstrating positive behavior, academic excellence and leadership qualities in school and their communities.
"I am extremely proud of everything the Turn 2 Foundation and particularly the children in our programs have accomplished in 2013," Jeter said. "These young people have set a positive example with their academic success, commitment to healthy living and community service. They have exceeded our wildest expectations and deserve an incredible holiday season filled with health and happiness."
