2012 Cubs Convention heads into extra innings
Woody's Winter Warm-up to feature Cubs players and the Plain White T's
CHICAGO -- Cubs fans, get ready for a new season, new baseball leadership, and the upcoming Cubs Convention! All-Star pitcher Kerry Wood is celebrating with Woody's Winter Warm-up, a Celebrity Mixer on Friday, January 13th from 8:30 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. at Harry Caray's Tavern, Navy Pier. Join Kerry as he enlists the help of friends, Cubs players and baseball legends to get behind the bar and serve drinks and food to fans while competing for tips to raise money for the Wood Family Foundation. Confirmed Cubs players include Marlon Byrd, Matt Garza, Geovany Soto, Starlin Castro, Ryan Dempster, Randy Wells, Welington Castillo, Darwin Barney and James Russell. Cubs owner Tom Ricketts, President of Baseball Operations Theo Epstein, baseball legends Ernie Banks and Rick Sutcliffe and former Chicago Bears Richard Dent and Otis Wilson will also be in attendance.*
The evening will be emceed by Windy City Live's Ryan Chiaverini and includes meet and greet opportunities with Cubs players, silent auction, premium open bar, dinner buffet and raffle with all proceeds benefitting the WFF. There will be a special acoustic performance by Chicago's very own Plain White T's who are not only platinum selling Grammy nominated artists, but huge Cubs fans! In addition, there will be an acoustic set by singer-songwriter William Beckett, who has fronted the band The Academy IsÂ… plus Grammy nominated and Chicago-based music producer Paul Blair (aka DJ White Shadow) will be on hand to entertain the crowd with his masterfully blended mix of music.
Tickets for Woody's Winter Warm-up are $150 per person or fans can reserve a booth for four people for $1,000 (includes tableside cocktail service).
