Kerry Wood's Strike Zone online auction is live!

Bid on items to benefit the Wood Family Foundation

Chicago Cubs pitcher Kerry Wood and his wife Sarah will hold the sixth Kerry Wood's Strike Zone Celebrity Bowling Tournament fundraiser on Sunday, Sept. 18, at 10pin Bowling Lounge located at 330 N. State Street in Chicago. The tournament, which also features an online auction, will benefit the Wood Family Foundation. To view items and bid now, click here.

"I am extremely proud of this tournament and the fact that we have raised more than $2 million for children in and around the Chicagoland area," Kerry said. "We have some very unique auction items this year, and I've had fun going around and personally securing items from some of my teammates and friends from around the league."

When White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen kicked Cubs catcher Geovany Soto's mask in a heated verbal dispute with home plate umpire James Hoye on June 20, Kerry went into the dugout and had Geovany autograph it. Kerry also had all nine Opening Day starters autograph a ball.

Other items include a six-course dinner for 10 people at the Woods' home in Chicago prepared by "Chef Hans" Aeshbacher and Luigi Negronian, an autographed ukulele and CD of Eddie Vedder's "Ukulele Songs," a chance to throw out the first pitch or be a member of the grounds crew at Wrigley Field in the 2012 season, two tickets to a 2012 taping of Saturday Night Live in New York and much, much more.

"Kerry and I are looking forward to spending the evening with all of his teammates, local celebrities and supporters," said Sarah Wood, executive director of the Wood Family Foundation. "Money raised will have an immediate impact on children in our area. For those who can't join us, participating in the online auction is a great way to support our cause."

The event will have 24 corporate-sponsored teams and a celebrity captain assigned to each one. The online auction goes live on Thursday, Sept. 1, and will close at 10:00 p.m. CT on Saturday, Sept. 17. The auction will continue at the event Sept. 18. Online bidders will be represented by proxy and will be notified of their winning bids the following week. The event will be hosted by Eric & Kathy of 101.9fm THE MIX.
