Safeco Field has been designed to meet all structural and service requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act. All restrooms, ticket windows, drinking fountains, phones, ATMs and counters at points of service are accessible to guests with disabilities. For more information or to receive Braille, large print or cassette copies of this brochure, contact our Guest Service Department at 206-664-3660.
Assisted Listening Devices (ALD)
State-of-the-art devices that transmit ballpark audio are available for guests with hearing impairments for use during games. Stop by the Main Guest Service Center behind Section 128 for more information. These devices are available free of charge.
Batting Practice Access
In June 2001, the Mariners unveiled a program to better serve young guests with disabilities. This program allows mobility-impaired children, 14 years old and under, to have equal access to the field during batting practice. The Mariners are the first baseball team to offer this program.
Due to limited availability, fans are encouraged to make reservations prior to arriving at Safeco Field. Fans wishing to take part in this unique opportunity should contact the Seattle Mariners Guest Services Department during regular business hours (M-F) at (206) 346-4217. All reservations will be handled on a first come, first serve basis.
The Mariners do not guarantee any autographs during the batting practice visit.
Drop-Off Zones
The disabled drop-off and pickup location has been moved to the east side of First Avenue directly in front of the ballpark. Only vehicles displaying state-issued disabled permits will be allowed to stop in this area. Drivers are asked to limit their use of this zone to five minutes to that others may have access.
Elevators
Guests with disabilities may take the elevators at the Left Field Gate (Main Concourse Section 146) and the Home Plate Gate (Section 129) to access all levels of Safeco Field. The elevator at the Center Field Gate (Section 391) provides access between the Field Level, Main Concourse, and the Center Field Bleacher seating area only. An elevator at Section 106 provides access to the Main Concourse, the Suite Level and the Upper Concourse.
Gate Opening Times and Access
All gates open two hours prior to game time (gate times are subject to change). All gates/entrances are fully accessible.
Metro Bus Service
Metro provides accessible bus service for persons with disabilities and senior citizens. With a valid Regional Reduced Fare Permit, you can ride Metro's regular bus routes for 25 cents. Metro also has two paratransit van programs. You must register with Metro ahead of time to use the paratransit programs. For more information, call Metro's Accessible Services office at 206-689-3113 (689-3116 for TDD users) during regular business hours.
Parking
Disabled parking spaces are available at the Safeco Field garage on a pre-sold and limited day-of-game basis. Only vehicles with state-issued disabled parking plates or permits are allowed to park in these areas. All vehicles parked in such areas not displaying said plates or permits may be towed at the owner's expense and the driver of such vehicle cited. The individual to whom the plate/permit was issued must be present in the vehicle. You may be asked for additional identification/certification for the individual to which the state-issued disabled plate or permit was issued. This is done to discourage those that misuse and abuse the privileges given with such permits. The closest disabled parking spaces are available on a first come, first served basis so please arrive early if these are required.
Large Vans, Buses, Oversized Vehicles
The parking spaces inside the garage are for standard sized vehicles with a garage height limit of 7'0". A limited number of spaces are available for oversized, extended or side loading vans on the north end of the garage on S. Atlantic. Additional oversized vehicle parking is available outside on the surface lot located at the south end of the garage. Space location is available on a first come, first served basis, with the spaces closest to the ballpark naturally filling first. If bringing larger, oversized vehicles such as extended vans or buses, please mention this when calling to pre-purchase parking.
Pre-Purchasing Disabled Parking
To pre-purchase disabled parking, you must call (206) 346-4001 at least 10 days prior to the game date to allow for the pass distribution, mailing or pick up. Parking for the disabled will be located on the north end of Level 3 and above in the Safeco Field Parking Garage on a first come, first served basis.
Additional Parking Facilities
Accessible parking at a variety of prices is also available at Home Plate Parking (206) 284-6303, southwest of Safeco Field, Stadium Exhibition Center Parking Garage (206) 932-7809 and at the Union Station Garage (206) 682-7275 located north of the ballpark.
Restrooms
Restrooms are conveniently located throughout the ballpark and all are accessible to guests with disabilities. Additionally, there are six family restrooms that provide added accessibility.
Service Animals
Certified service animals or service animals in training are welcome at Safeco Field. If you require space for your animal, companion tickets for service animals can be requested through the ticket office. Safeco Field Hosts are available to escort you and your animal to the nearest convenient service animal restroom area. Water and bowls can be provided free of charge through any Guest Service Center.
Tickets
There are 452 wheelchair spaces as well as 452 accompanying companion seats located throughout the ballpark, available proportionately in all seating categories subject to demand. Every effort is made to provide seats adjacent to wheelchair locations for the entire party attending the event. Another 452 seats have been designed for the mobility impaired. Tickets can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at 206-622-HITS and at all Ticketmaster outlets in Washington, Oregon and British Columbia. Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Mariners Box Office located at Safeco Field (Atlantic Street, on the south side of the ballpark), or at any Mariners Team Store. Please identify your need for disabled seating at the time of ticket purchase.
TDD Phones
TDD phones are located near the Guest Service Centers on both the Main Concourse (Section 128) and Upper Concourse (Section 330). Ask any Safeco Field Host for additional information.
